Your friend thinks that the letters on the back of the pendant may encode a location for Excalibur. Take a look at the front of the pendant, and the design etched on the monolith. Do you notice any similarities in the lettering? How might you use the pairing of these two to decipher the back of the pendant?
The lettering at the top of the monolith matches the formatting of the pendant's phrase perfectly: six letters, dot, two letters, dot, three letters, dot, five letters. This must be more than just a coincidence. Perhaps the letters correspond to one another? Could this help you translate the phrase on the back?
You can also see that recurring letters on the pendant always correspond to the same letter on the monolith. The Ts in Knight, The, and Table, all correspond to "N"s on the monolith, for example.
If letters on the pendant always translate to the same monolith letters… what would happen if you translated the phrase on the back into what would be shown on the monolith?
The first letter on the back of the pendant is "K". The "K" in "Knight" translates to an "L" on the monolith. The second letter "L" (from "Table") translates to "A" on the monolith. Can you translate the remainder of the phrase?
Using the letter pairings from the front of the pendant to the monolith image, the back of the pendant can be translated to "Lake of Snowdon".
